Birds

N.B. Baby birds of different species feed in a different manner. The suitability of the feeding technique will depend largely upon the species in question but also on the individual baby being handled.

Ensure to feed in a gentle and slow manner. Patience is the key here. Your feeding speed must match the intake of the baby. Don’t rush the chicks; let them feed at their pace. It is only weaker babies that feed in a slow manner, while healthier babies feed at a good pace. The objective is to have healthy ‘n strong babies, not to feed at a faster pace. Be patient and handle them gently so they can come up to their normal pace.
